In light of keeping things real I need to be honest and say although the TV is not a babysitter it can be a means to calm a child down, it can also be a parent pacifier when you just need a fix of something just for you and it can be a family gatherer too.
During the summer holidays our viewing is probably at its most varied, with Joshua off school, hubs having days off work and me needing to head to bed early and grab some selfish viewing time so what have we been watching this summer?
Well for me my viewing has been taken over with the Gilmore Girls … I had never heard of it before seeing them on Netflix but after someone recommended it to me I am somewhat obsessive! … I am just about to start season 3 and with the whole of seasons 1 to 7 in one place I maybe slightly busy for a few more weeks yet, although at the rate I am watching them I may not have that much time left before I finish them altogether!
Intermittently over the last few weeks I have slipped in some film viewing with films such as Still Alice and Poltergeist, did I mention my viewing tastes are rather random? And to top it off with The Purge’s new film coming out at the end of August I have even squeezed in watching The Purge: Anarchy too!
So what about Family films this summer?
I have to admit we have had some rather eclectic viewing and here is our top 5 family film favourites this summer:
This next few weeks however we have planned in some more family viewing … although I fear I may have to kerb the popcorn or it could start getting quite costly!
If you are a Netflix viewer, what have you been watching?
