I have the messiest handbag in the world – I still never remember that Joshua has his own bag with change of clothes and stuff in now he is 4 so my bag is still full of baby wipes, suntan lotions, tissues, half eaten biscuits, empty sweet wrappers and receipts by the bucketful! So thankfully I am going to share my holiday bag!
Most of my regular readers will know that I recently returned from our family holiday in Tunisia and that in a few weeks we are off again this time to the beautiful Mark Warner resort in Rhodes and as much as I hate to say it I think I might finally have the contents of my carry on bag sussed!
After several disastrous flight adventures with Joshua 2 years ago, I thought long and hard about what I keep in my bag/carry on hang luggage as the drama of forgetting is sometimes to frightful to think about ….Especially when I have slight OCD tendencies!
So what is in my bag?
Passports – Simple but without them I’m going nowhere!
Travel Documents – These include my booking confirmations for flights, hotels, airport car parks and insurance
EHIC Cards – European Health Insurance Cards (if travelling in an EU country )
Birth Certificates – Since my daughter has an alternative surname currently on her legal paperwork I have photo copies of her birth certificate along with my marriage certificate and my birth certificate, along with a letter from her Dad some years ago confirming he is OK for me to remove her from the country as I see fit.
Mints/Boiled Sweets – You have to have something to suck on during take off to help with the ear popping!
Cheesy Mags – Nothing like a totally Jeramy Kyle read while on a plane journey!
Nintendo New 3ds – For use by either me or Joshua, it helps pass some time
Baby Wipes & Nappy Bags – Well he maybe 4 but I am not ready to give these useful blighters the heave-ho just yet
Hair Bobbles – A must for anyone with long hair or who have kids with long hair
Pens/Crayons – Well you never know when the urge may take you to colour in!
Money & Bank Card – I always spread our holiday money over the 2 of us, not that we tend to take our much cash, we take one bank card with no overdraft and the remainder of our holiday cash on.
So there you have it, there is nothing in there that is massively exciting but its all still necessary and I doubt I am the only one that carries this much stuff …. However now its time to find the right bag to carry it in!
