I am probably the worst Mum in the world but I have a slight obsessional fear about drinks in any part of my home other than at the table but now Joshua is getting bigger enforcing a water only in the living room rule is going to become a bit of an issue.
Recently Ribena asked me to challenge myself and my fears to the test to try out their new ‘Less Spills, Less Mess’ cap on the Ribena Minis so that family fun isn’t spoiled with mess and stress. The caps have been developed, based on in-depth research with parents, to minimise spillage by allowing liquid to be released only when gently squeezed.
The drink comes in three flavours; Brilliant Blackcurrant, Oh So Yum Orange and Amazing Apple & Mango and contains real fruit juice and no added sugar so a great all round option if you are looking for a fruity drink.
So with a challenge set it was time to let these little bottles loose in my living room with a 5-year-old and a baby that gets everywhere to see just how well they coped with family life.
Firstly I have to say that I loved the new cap as it really was easy to get into both for me and for Joshua and the bottle size made it great his little hands.
There was enough in each bottle to quench the most dire thirst and with the new cap it meant that Joshua could come back to it later.
Even with the cap left off when Joshua was more excited at getting back to playing his DS than putting his drink safe I did slightly begin to freak out that a mess was imminent but even with Jacob ramming the bottle off the end of the sofa with his baby walker steering we only got one tiny drop … I’m not going to lie it was at that point I nearly caved into my obsessional way, that was until I realised that one tiny drop is by far the best ever result ever when dealing with little folks on their drinks and that I have to say must be due to the new cap, however not being any kind of engineer or designer I can’t back up that theory other than knowing what the consequences are when dropping a similar product on the floor are far more detrimental that I had banned them from the living room altogether!
I personally would have no issues taking these in the car or even putting them in my bag now I know that they have that super cap!
Thank you so much Ribena for easing my mind so that I can give my Son more freedom in his own home and out and about.
