As you had probably guessed after 3 weeks of starting my weight loss journey with XLS Medical’s Nutrition Weight Loss Shakes I have finally shed my first stone.
I have to be honest and when I was asked what I would like to realistically achieve in the 8 weeks I really dreamed of 1- 1.5 stones. As a fat one approaching 17 stones I knew that my ideal dream was to hit the 15 stone something mark. For some unknown reason in my head landing in the 15 stone range meant I was really doing this.
So as I sit here typing I am finally 15 stone 13lbs making it my first stone loss and showing a tentative tiny step, albeit a great one into the 15 stone range.
This week I have had some really hard days, not with hunger as I have found the shakes and this new lifestyle really easy to live with. However I have mentally had a battle between the fat Jaime and the thinner Jaime. I spent the Sunday dress shopping with my best friend and it took me a while to mentally and even physically stop picking up the size 20-22 dresses. The fat Jaime was rather persistent but after giving myself a talking to and with the support of my friend I know I need to allow thinner to speak out and have her say.
It’s been nice to finally accept that things physically and mentally are changing, I am feeling fitter and healthier and for the first time in about 5 years I have had to finally buy some smaller everyday clothes. Yes, my 7 black t-shirts in size 24 are now obsolete and I have replaced them with 5 black (yes identical) size 20 T-shirts and for the first time in a long time I feel ok about myself. Although new pants are needed soon … years of or stretching elastic and a stone loss means a terrible incident is on the cards if I do ever venture out in a dress!
Food wise this week I have been really good about being aware of my calorie intake and although I have been to TGI Fridays with my friend while dress shopping (it was traumatic, the dress shopping not the food) I have been really pleased that the next day I got right back on the shakes and eating plan again and it seems to be keeping me going.
I guess the feeling that I am missing out that has been so tempting with other weight loss attempts just isnt there and by sticking to the other days of the week it still didn’t scupper my weight loss.
So next week I am going to tackle some new ideas for food and check out some recipes as grilled chicken and fish, although are nice I do need to find a better variation!
