5 Fun Activities To Do With The Kids This Easter

With the kids being off school and the weather finally picking up, it’s the perfect time to get the family together and share in some fun Easter activities. There are thousands of ways you can spend the Easter break, from cycling together as a family to making a huge scrapbook filled with your favourite photographs and memories. Easter allows you to get creative with your kids and really enjoy your time together.

1. Easter Cards

Making your own homemade Easter cards can be a really fun and artistic way to pass the time. Craft Superstore has a great range of Easter card stickers and craft kits to help your kids make their own cards. Once the cards are made, you can send them out to friends and family who would love to see just how creative your kids can be. Add a personal touch and include a photograph of your kids inside, they could even dress up as bunnies to reflect the Easter theme.

2. Bake Easter Treats

Baking is not only a great way to relieve stress it’s also a great opportunity to get the kids involved in something they usually tend to avoid. Chocolate rice Krispy buns have always been a popular choice at Easter and are pretty quick to make. Melt some chocolate in a saucepan and mix in lots of Rice Krispies until each one is coated in chocolate. Then simply use a spoon to fill cupcake cases with the delicious buns and leave to set. If you want to try something a little different, Martha Stewart advises that you make marshmallow Easter bunny treats using themed cookie cutters.

3. Easter Egg Hunt

There’s something magical about hunting for hidden Easter eggs and you can make the event even more special for your kids by dressing up like the Easter Bunny yourself. Your kids will love it and you could hide the eggs about your own home and garden to make it seem as though the Easter bunny hopped through the house, leaving his best eggs about for your kids to find.

4. Bunny Masks

Kids love making things, especially when there’s glue involved. According to www.parentmap.com, bunny masks are ideal for Easter and are really simple to make. Cut out the shape for the face using cardboard or a large piece of card. It may be a good idea to use a pencil to draw out the initial ‘bunny face’ beforehand. Pierce holes in either side of the mask so that you can pull string through the holes and actually tie the mask onto your child’s head. Cotton balls glued around the mask are great for the fur.

5. Decorate Eggs

Decorating eggs at Easter is a popular tradition and you can use either real ones or artificial eggs made from paper, plastic or polystyrene (we made some egg people last year). If you are using real eggs then make sure that you use food colouring to dye the egg because this is more likely to colour the egg-shell effectively, resulting in a more vibrant finish.
