Babystyle Oyster Zero Pushchair Review

Babystyle Oyster Zero Pushchair Review The Oliver\\\'s Madhouse
Regular readers will be aware that I first discovered Babystyle as a brand with their new offering back in December with their newest product the Hybrid Stroller. Which we LOVED.

Recently we had the opportunity to review their lightweight offering the BabyStyle Oyster Zero and I was immensely excited as it contained many of the features I loved on their Oyster pushchair and the Hybrid.

It has the same style of over sized hood as the Hybrid with its super sun visor that pops in and out which was our lifesaver when we travelled with it on holiday!

Our very first trip out with it was at the Baby Show in Birmingham and I have to say I was immediately impressed with the size of the seat unit. Its much more roomy than so many pushchairs I have seen and with its easy to adjust 5 point harness we were able to get Jacob fastened in properly from the word go.

The Babystyle Oyster zero weighs a mere 7.9kgs and with his swivel front wheels (which you can lock if you want to) and its immense rear suspension it is one of the best lightweight pushchairs I have used for its manoeuvrability the ability to push one-handed.

Features wise this pushchair is packed with them from the fully reclining seat, large shopping basket, storage pocket in the hood, storage pocket in the front of the basket that can hold the raincover (or drinks bottles like we did on holiday) and its bumper bar with matching handle covered in a lovely brown leather style material.

It also has an easy quick release folding option that I mastered with Jacob in one arm!

If you are looking for a travel system then this lightweight offering can be used as one too with its ability to add-on a carrycot or car seat to the chassis meaning it can be used from birth. What’s even more exciting is the fact that most pushchairs only offer a maximum weight for use of 15kgs – this beauty offers it to 20kgs so even the biggest of mini humans can still fit in.

While using this on holiday we used a generic pushchair liner to protect the seat fabric from the tons of sun tan lotion and ice creams that it was going to put up with but I do wish I had looked into the option of buying one from the Babystyle site as accessing the fold release strap located in the seat base did become tricky.

Being honest however now we are back in the UK I don’t think I will bother using one as we don’t normally allow him to eat in the pushchair.

The BabyStyle Oyster Zero pushchair currently retails at £229 and for the price I think it has been amazing and is certainly now my go to lightweight pushchair from here on in.

It folds quickly which made it easier to get through security in the airport and it gave a far more sturdy and quality ride for Jacob that he would not have gotten with one of the lightweight umbrella fold options on the market.

Although there was nothing negative I found about the pushchair there were a couple of things that personally I would have preferred like a slightly larger brake pedal. Obviously this one works well but is on the small side so maybe being a tad larger it would be easier to depress with flip-flops on. Also the recline mechanism is like a drawstring and works easily enough but can be a little more fiddly than the mechanical offering on other pushchairs. Again these were only my preferences and they have not stopped me falling in love with this lightweight offering from Babystyle.

Thank you Babystyle for allowing me to review this pushchair and for giving me my travel mojo back as now I know I can tackle going just about anywhere with Baby Jacob on my own.
