Add this lady to my 2 friends who I have been besties with for over 17 years who are so like me its sometimes very scary that we are not all one in the same person since we all think so much alike. But this means I am amazingly lucky on the friendship front.
Being friends with these ladies for so long means that we have chatted about some oddly random things but also discussed some of the most immensely important aspects of our lives too. These ladies know me inside out and back again just with the sheer amount of history we have.
I am not one for having tons of ‘best’ friends and over the years have realised that knowing someone and being friends it something completely different to being ‘best friends’ with them. Maybe its just me but the older I have gotten the less free time I seem to have so its a great feeling having a little gang of hard core friends that don’t worry if they don’t see me for week as life is busy.
Having some amazing friends means when I had my own children I knew from the offing that I wanted them to have some fabulous friends in their lives too. When 2 of my besties were having kids of their own I hoped they would become friends too.
One of my friends had her lovely little boy around 8 months ago so is still not as ‘interesting’ to my little men yet as Joshua and Jacob like to play so I will look forward to seeing how their friendships develop next year when Luca is on his feet and ‘playing’ … I fear however Jacob and Luca will be a force to be reckoned with!
The other friend with children is Stacey with her daughter (my goddaughter) Freya (aged 3 nearly 4) and Finley (who is 2 weeks older than Jacob)
I loved seeing how in awe Freya is with Joshua and how caring Joshua is with her in return. Even being a little smaller he is so patient with Freya and takes her under his wing.
Watching Jacob and Finley developing their little personalities and starting to play with each other and not just play next to each other has been lovely to watch. There have been some tears in the past as 18 month olds don’t know how to share yet … so there will be more tears to come no doubt.
I took this photograph of all 4 of the kids while we were away camping and I can honestly say while looking at it for the first time it I felt truly honoured and excited to not only watch these little people grow but to see how their friendships develop too.
Sometimes life is chaotic, busy and overwhelming and we often don’t have time to think about the little things.
I am going to make more of an effort to enjoy the little things or moments like this would just pass me by and that makes me sad.
Heres to fun and friendship both mine and theirs.
