Joshua’s 4th Birthday

Joshua's 4th Birthday The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLast week was fantastically exciting, busy and fun filled but yet draining too .. With my little fella turning 4 we had lots planned and were hoping it would be lots of fun too.

I think the most emotional moment for me of my little guy turning 4 was on the morning of his birthday … with little shouts from his bed to say he was awake Ollie fetched him into our bed to see him unwrap a few of our little gifts and card and after opening his DVD he turned to us both and gave us the biggest hugs and kisses all very unprompted .. it was beautiful!

Next came the downstairs free for all, that saw him rip off the wrapping paper in record time followed be numerous singing telephone calls and breakfast.

However we had planned to give Joshua his main present when we got back from our day out .. However Ollie couldn’t wait to see the Joshua’s face so we gave him it him in the morning instead and he was totally in love!

Then without hesitation we were on the roll to Drayton Manor to visit the new Thomas Land expansion where there was copious amounts of candy floss, ice-cream, pizza and rides followed by the standard issue Minion cake.

After a 2 hours nap in the car on the way home Joshua kept going strong once home and in fact went to bed at the same time as us at just after 10 pm!

The day after his birthday it was time to get organised for the postponed family party from yesterday … So for me there was a fair amount of running round like a nutter but for Joshua he spent most of the morning asking when his cousins were going to come to the party …

The afternoon saw the whole family arrive with aunties by the bucket full, an uncle, 4 cousins a sister and 4 grandparents it was time to get the laughter flowing .. Joshua spent lots of the afternoon chasing, riding and eating pizza … lots of pizza!

For me It was so lovely to spend the afternoon in the sunshine with our family around us and seeing the cousins playing altogether.

The day was rounded off with the second cake in two days and another round of Happy Birthday’s  … before bed.

It had been epically busy but especially magical

I can’t wait to see what your 4th year brings.
