The Day Life Started To Become Normal

If you have been a regular reader here, you will know that I have undergone a major operation a little over a month ago and as part of that operation I was advised by the consultant that the recovery element was just as important as the surgery itself. 

During this last month I have struggled to get about with having open surgery of all my lower abdominal muscles. As part of the recovery I have not been able to tend to baby Jacob as lifting is a massive no no and if I am honest its hurt me to not be actively involved and have to sit on the sidelines while Ollie has tended to him. 

Last week however I finally got a glimpse of what life is going to be like once I am fit and well as we venture to the park as a family. 

Before my operation I had struggled to get out and about and move as freely as I would have liked and that had hindered my parenting to an extent, however even still being in immense pain I headed out to a local park for the first time in a long time with the whole family. 

I got to experience so many little moments watching my kids play, laugh and in Jacobs case walk too that I have missed over the last couple of months. 
I know for many going to the park and watching your kids play is something that is everyday but for me it was like finally feeling like life should have been. 
If this is what the new normal is going to be then I for one cant wait to get going and I will always be grateful that this operation seems to have helped give me back my life and my family time.
