7 Steps To A Cozy Wintertime Snug

7 Steps To A Cozy Wintertime Snug The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseAt this time of year, it’s safe to say that we’re all a little done with the weather. It’s cold and dark, wet and windy, and we’ve all had enough. Sure, at first, it’s fun to hibernate a little. But before long, you’re just longing for the spring and summer months once again. However, you have to kind of accept that they are are just going to get here when they get here. And until then, you need to make sure that you make the most of the winter months, well – as much as you can anyway! Because before long, you’ll only going to want to snuggle on down again. So why not make sure that you can start doing that now? The best way to make this happen is for you to create your own cozy snug at home!

Now, most people have some kind of living space that they’ll spend a lot of their time in. But sometimes, it isn’t always as cozy as you’d like it to be. And not only that, it might be a formal space or an open plan space or a space that everyone uses for a range of different reasons. When this is a case, it’s much better to try and create your own kind of cozy snug instead. It’s perfect for the winter and in the summer, you can use it as a big of a movie theatre. And here’s how to pull it together.

  1. Choose The Space

So the first step here is working out where the snug can go. Maybe you have a spare downstairs space that you’re doing nothing with? Or an old study or bedroom or even the garage that you don’t use? These these could all potentially become your snug room. Just make sure that you’re figuring out the best place for it, and that you’re sure you can fit all you want into the space that you have.

  1. Clear It Out

Next, you’re then going to want to make sure that you clear it out. Most of the time, the room that you use to build this in is going to have had another life. So you need to be sure that you empty out everything that is currently in it and then find a new home for it, because that clutter can’t stay!

  1. Decide On The Decor

And now that you’ve got your blank canvas, it’s time to do something with it. At this point, you might want to look for more inspiration. Or maybe you’re at a point where you’re ready to get going? Then next, you’re going to want to head out, pick out your choices, and get ready to start decorating. Just make sure that you prep the room here first.

  1. Get The Base Sorted

The next thing to do is just to get to work. Do your primer and then add the paint. Even sand down the walls first if you feel like they need it. Make sure that you have all of this done before you put the flooring down so that it doesn’t get ruined.

  1. Get The Fixtures In Place

At this point, you’re pretty much going to have a shell of a room. So the next job is to bring in any of the fittings and fixtures that you want. Do you want to go with a tv wall mounting or maybe a screen and projector? If so, the technology needs to go in. If you want a fire or log burner, you’ll also want to get these fitted at this stage too.

  1. Work In Furniture

And then it’s time to bring in all of your beautiful furniture! Maybe you’ve already got bits and pieces around the home that you can use? Or do you want to order a few new bits? If your budget is tight, then you’re going to want to consider looking into second hand options – or sometimes, people are looking to get rid of old furniture for free!

  1. Get The Atmosphere Just Right

And then finally, because this is a snug that you’re looking to create, you absolutely need to make sure that you’re bringing in the right atmosphere. Here, it’s important to make sure that the room feels really cozy. This can be achieved with a lot of the soft furnishings that you’re bringing in. Think about the cushions and the throws and the different textures here. But then also, things like lighting and candles will also bring the room alive and make your brand new snug extra cozy.
