A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWho needs sunshine to have a family day out?

Well, we didn’t recently when we decided to spend some time discovering the forest on our doorstep.

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWith the wind high and only matched by the kids excitement we headed off across fields and public footpaths to discover the first stop, the river.

It has been a while since we did this adventure as a family. On this trip the wind was cutting across the field but all that did was make Jacob far more excitable.

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseReaching the river we had to cross a muddy bog which the boys thought was excellent. After all as a kids there is nothing more exciting than a big squishy slurping pool of mud that sucks off your wellies to navigate. For me I feared I was going to get a muddy bum!

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe river was swollen with the excess rain water form the last few months and there as a deep gouge out of the embankment where there had been some of the bank fall because of the excess water.

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseJoshua and Jacob decided that playing pooh stick was needed. Although I have to be honest and say my heart was in my mouth as Jacob is just a daredevil and water lover I worries me he might just jump in after his stick!

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseNext we headed to the forest part of the adventure and since I last visited there had been some new developments such as someone living room furniture! Who on earth thinks dumping a sofa in a forest is a good idea? There was also a massive amount of rats sneaking in and out the undergrowth.

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI know they say you are never far from rats but my goodness they were everywhere. As forest adventures go this one was somewhat *cough cough* interesting!

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe kids thought it was an epic adventure. I am not sure if it was the random sofa or the hundreds of rats we spotted that did it but it certainly made for an interesting trip out.

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseChildhood memories are made from outings like this and I don’t think we will ever go on a forest visit again without looking for rats!

A *cough cough* Interesting Windy Forest Adventure The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLife doesn’t have to be perfect. Even those imperfect days make memories ….
