#AD Why We Are Taking Part In The Great British Camp Out For The NHS

*Advertorial Feature With Go Outdoors*#AD Why We Are Taking Part In The Great British Camp Out For The NHS The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLife lately has been nothing if not hard for so many.

We have been lucky that we all have our health and our loved ones are currently all well in themselves. I know this is not the case for everyone.

My sister in law is a nurse and she has been poorly but doing well now. She does an amazing job and just like all the other NHS staff they are working their socks off to keep as many of us healthy and as well as possible.

However, I am going to lay it on the line and say this week marked a massive decrease in spirits in our household and although 6 weeks in we had done fairly well up to this point. We are now mentally struggling with the lockdown and lack of routine, social life, work and school.

So when I heard about The Great British Camp Out this bank holiday weekend I knew that this is exactly what we needed as a family. We need to get back to what we love and that is family camping, even if that is only in the back garden. And what is even better is the fact that one of our regular camping store Go Outdoors is supporting this, having even changed their logo to Go Indoors!

#AD Why We Are Taking Part In The Great British Camp Out For The NHS The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe Great British Camp Out is following the hashtag #GOindoors this weekend and they want you to share your photos and videos on everything from crafting to camping in your own back garden with your loved ones and the message behind all this is a simple one – GO Indoors – Protect the NHS – Save Live – to support the NHS you can donate (your pitch fees or anything you can to this super cause HERE

Lets Make It Even Better With A Festival

So while out camping in your house or garden this VE day bank holiday weekend why not make it even better with a Festival at home!

Sporting friends and British Olympic legends Greg Rutherford and Iwan Thomas are amongst a host of talented folks who will be keeping thousands of virtual festival-goers entertained in their homes over the VE Day Bank Holiday weekend, joining fitness instructors, outdoors bushcraft experts and gifted musicians.

In true British spirit, VE day itself will see festival-goers join in a two-minute silence of remembrance at 11am, traditional afternoon tea, and a viewing of then-Prime Minister Mr Churchill’s speech from May 8th 1945 where he announced the war in Europe was over.

#AD Why We Are Taking Part In The Great British Camp Out For The NHS The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseInspired by his time on Celebrity Masterchef last year, retired track and field athlete Greg will be joining in the day’s activities by cooking up a simple burger-based dish in his garden. He’ll be camping at home alongside his family and in support of charity. Greg will lead the way in raising a toast to neighbours and everyone playing their part in the fight against Coronavirus.

Here is the full line up:

If you want to follow the festival and even take part you can find it on their facebook page HERE

There are a few of those on my must take part in list I can tell you, after all picnic and Prosecco is right up my street, not to mention burger making and skewers! I know Ollie will be excited for a quiz. He loves to think of himself as super good .. I am not convinced but I am looking forward to spending it in the garden with my kids just having fun.

So if you have a weekend of family time planned, why not spend it at home in the garden or even your house ‘camping’ and donate to a super worthy cause. And don’t worry if camping isn’t your thing you could still take part with some of the festival activities and donate your festival fee to the cause too!

I am looking forward to seeing who is joining in with us this weekend.
