The Annual Autumn De-clutter, DIY And Decorate …

The Annual Autumn De-clutter, DIY And Decorate ... The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseWell that’s it I am in full on frantic tidy, I made a start on the spare room last week, where if it’s not nailed down its going to be sold come car boot, Facebook selling page or ebay!

For some reason I get to this stage in the year and I feel the house has become cluttered and grubby and so its like a yearly tradition to grab the rollers and give the house a spruce! but with the best will in the world I am running out of steam before I have even really started this year so I am going to summon all my energy!

This year so far I have gone OTT … I am planning more than a titivation but a major cosmetic overhaul, why when I don’t have the energy I just don’t know!

A short time ago I won an amazing competition that  meant I could buy some Bathroom fixtures and fittings and the new vanity unit (finally some storage for my bathroom) and a beautiful traditional towel rail! have arrived …. so I am itching to get in there and deep clean, reseal the shower and change the flooring since the lino that is down will need to be replaced.

So here is my dilemma, do I go back to lino or tiles? I have spent all weekend in contemplation and with still not having any answers I have broadened my field and I am now heading to Ikea next week to measure up for fitted wardrobes in our bedroom! … but again I am stuck on the flooring options.

I must admit my OCD cleaning tendencies are pulling me more towards hard flooring such a wooden flooring, although truth be told I would love it throughout the house with some big fluffy rugs, but fear I need to save more for that!

Is it just me that gets to this time of year and wants to declutter, DIY and decorate? please tell me I am not!

No your not the only one. I really need to do a big tidy we have so much that like you if it’s not nailed down it’s going to go live at someone else’s house thanks to ebay. x

I am on a big decluttering mission as well at the moment. First up for me is painting the spare room before moving onto 7yo’s room.
