BuyACow: Affordable, Sustainable Beef – A Review

BuyACow: Affordable, Sustainable Beef - A Review The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseA little while ago I was asked if I would like to try out an online premium beef box.

BuyACow believe delicious beef can be enjoyed healthily and affordably, while also protecting animal welfare, the environment and sustainable food & farming practices. Connecting shoppers to local, ethical farmers who rear grass-fed cattle with no hormones or preventative antibiotics. These in turn produce premium beef that is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids.

On the BuyACow website, shoppers can buy a share of a cow and only once all it’s remaining shares are sold will it then be processed, matured and delivered to shoppers’ homes in a meat-box. Meaning that every part of the cow is used.

About 3-4 weeks after agreeing to take a look at a meat box I received an email with a delivery date that offered the opportunity to alter the delivery date if i needed too.

Once my date was selected I was excited to see what arrived.

On first sight I was slightly concerned at the colour of it as it was a purplish colour but there was a note in the box that explained that because it was grass fed and matured it can look a slightly different colour.

BuyACow: Affordable, Sustainable Beef - A Review The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseOver the last few weeks we have been using our meat for family meals and have been thoroughly chuffed to bits by it all. We noticed a massive change in taste than our regular mince as we cooked Spaghetti Bolognese and Ollie even referred to it than nicer than the one he had in Jamie Oliver’s restaurant! The flavour was richer and the texture was superb.
