Dear Son, On Your Last Day Of Primary School

Dear Son, On Your Last Day Of Primary School The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseDearest Joshua.

Wow, what a journey.

During your first few days of primary school, I had expected tears from you .. All your classmates seemed to be upset on and off at being at school. You on the other hand practically skipped to school every day.

For a whole term …

Then on the first day of your second term, the tears came. You cried every morning for weeks as the realisation set in that this was now part of your life .. every day.

Dear Son, On Your Last Day Of Primary School The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseYou made friends quickly at school and you have had and continue to have some fantastic friendship groups.

As the years have ticked by and the school reports filtered home. It was obvious that you were very academically clever. You excelled in English, and it was an utter joy to watch that love for reading, writing and spelling grow.

In the early years you had a tendancy to get embroiled in other peoples drama but that thankfully was reasonablly fleeting and you found a more intense urge to learn instead of getting involved in drama.

You found a new found love of flags, countries and differences in places and from that point on there was no stopping you.

A few weeks into your year 6 experiance you lost your friend. He passed away quietly in his sleep and I know this effected you deeply. There has been an immense sadness about your journey through year 6 as your friend was unable to walk that path with you.

However, you have tried so very hard to enjoy everything year 6 has offered you. Even if there have been some sad tears for your friend along the way.

Dear Son, On Your Last Day Of Primary School The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseJust a couple of weeks ago you celerbrated with your friends at the year 6 leavers party and you allowed me to join in with you. You laughed with me and I with you. We danced, had fun with your friends and their mums and we got a glimpse of the grown men you would soon become.

Thank you for always making me so proud and even bigger thanks to you for allowing me to hold you had one last time on the way to your last day at primary school.

Enjoy your summer dear Joshua and I look forward to watching you walk your own path as you take on secondary school in September…. and the hand is always waiting to be held .. no matter how old you get.
