Working from home and dealing with the kids means I don’t get much time to be able to head to the gym. I’m lucky if he can grab five minutes here and there which is why I’ve been considering developing a fitness routine at home and have been looking at courses to become a fitness instructor. It means I can still know that I am doing something for my health but not having to worry about finding the time to slip out of the house and leave Daddy in charge of the kids.
Keeping fit is so important but it can be a struggle to find the time or energy to do so. Finding the routine that best suits you is vital and you also need the right equipment. Here’s how I will be developing a fitness routine at home…
Buying The Right Equipment
I want to try a variety of different activities to see what works best for me and the time I have available to exercise. I’ve been considering some gymnastics floor mats from Eveque, some dumbbells, and some other items to aid me in my routine.
Of course, you don’t necessarily need much equipment – some home exercises don’t need any at all. It is so important to have the items you need at home though if you are trying to incorporate more specialised exercises into your routine.
Setting Up A Time To Exercise
As I mentioned before, it can be super difficult to find the time to get to the gym so it is possible I will struggle to find the time when at home. However, it doesn’t need to be a set time. As long as I have a set amount of time to do the exercise in, I can slot that into any part of my day. Whether it is in the morning before the kids have got up, during nap times or activities or after they’ve gone to bed, there will always be some time to fit it in.
It is easy to develop a fitness routine that takes just twenty to thirty minutes. All that remains is to find that twenty or thirty minutes somewhere during the day to do it.
Take It Easy At The Beginning
As the fitness routine will be new to me, I know I will have to take it easy at the beginning, not least because I’ve not long had an operation too. I’ll be starting off with simple and easy-going activities before stepping them up as I start to feel more confident.
Find What Works For You
There is no point trying to spin multiple plates and fit everything in. After trying everything, it is important to see which exercises work best for you and incorporate those into your workout, removing the exercises that don’t work as well. There’s no point spending twenty or thirty minutes a day working out if you’re doing exercises that aren’t helping you achieve your fitness goals.
Set Goals & Track Your Progress
Once my routine is set in stone, I am planning to set myself goals to achieve and measure my progress against them regularly. I am not necessarily starting this new fitness routine to lose weight but if I do, I will be tracking my progress alongside my measurements and how well I’m doing.
I’m hoping that in a month’s time, my new fitness routine will bring positive results. Do you have a workout routine at home?
