*Advertorial Review*
Of late we have had very limited family time together and even less couple time out. So when Ollie and I were invited to go and visit Pieminister Nottingham we jumped at it.
We decided that with Kids bedtimes being sometimes chaotic and we didn’t want our parents being left to babysit too far into bedtimes we would head off into Nottingham later afternoon and have teatime there instead
If I am honest we both had never heard of Pieminister but a quick search had us both really intrigued. Pieminister serves award winning pies including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan additions to the menu. Along with a really tasty looking range of side dishes. Now to me these sounded like heaven as I adore pie. For poor Ollie however he was slightly anxious as pie is not really his bag. With so much on the menu however he decided to give it a go and came with me to try some food.
Inside Pieminister Nottingham
The building has the most fabulous interior and all very tongue in cheek with pie being the major theme.
Although the dining area is fairly open plan and one level there are areas set within it using room dividers and clever use of columns and decoration within the restaurant and so it feels fairly spacious but yet still packed with tons of atmosphere and not too open.
Escapes Room Bonus
We knew this already but at the Pieminister in Nottingham there is an added bonus of having 2 escape rooms upstairs for anyone keen to enjoy more than just pie. Both Ollie and I had never ever played in an escape room before. We were both up for the challenge however and chose the Demon Barber room. There is also Germageddon to try out.
Basically if you don’t have any knowledge of what an escape room is. It is an hour long challenge that for me was reminiscent of the challenges on the crystal maze (1990’s TV programme) You have an hour to solve the puzzles. You complete one and then keep moving onto the next.
During the Demon Barber as we moved through and completed a stage we moved into another room. Both being immensely competitive I wasn’t hopeful we would come out of it without the word divorce being uttered.
However we managed to escape with minutest to spare. Both Ollie and I loved it and we will certainly be back to play again in the second Escape room. (Price at time of going live is £18 per person)
Pie & Play
As part of this great concept Pieminster have it all covered and have a great offer for those people that want to do more than just eat pie. You can visit an escape room of your choice and have a pie and a side and a drink for £25 per person.
Which we both thought was great. After all its a super experience and with food and drink in the package too, whats not to like.

A New Pie Love
As I mentioned before Ollie wasn’t looking forward to pie (strange man) but I am thrilled to report he not only adored his pie. He is also lining up going again to try another!
Something I thought I would never hear from him.
