Enjoying Summer Road Trips With Car Shades

Enjoying Summer Road Trips With Car Shades The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseOK, I know I am not alone, many of us parents struggle this time of year with small kids in the car because of glare and bright sunlight. Thankfully with many newer cars the windscreen has some helpful antiglare coatings meaning those of us that are driving manage ok with just a trusty set of sunglasses.

But what about our passengers, more importantly those with sensitive eyes and the ones that refuse to keep sunglasses and hats on? Yes the kids.

Well for us after buying my new car as the ‘family’ road trip car last October we had been looking into the expense of having our car windows tinted but if I can be honest, I am not a massive fan of tinted glass, obviously its great in summer but I find it annoying in winter when visibility already can be much lower due to weather conditions so when I was recently contacted by the lovely folks at Car Shades about their fitted, yet removable tailored car shades I was eager to take a peek.

The Car Shades arrived really swiftly and to honest and lay it all out their bare, I ignored the package. Not because I wasn’t interested, but because I was slightly worried that fitting them would need a degree in engineering, construction and science. However I can wholeheartedly confirm that you need none of that. The enclosed instructions were super helpful and with handy pictures it meant I knew what I was supposed to do easily. (Thanks Car Shades)

The shades literally clipped into my windows and to be honest I loved them. But to be honest when I first pulled them from the bag I was positive there was no way in gods green earth that they would actually fit! But they obviously did, and I couldn’t be more pleased

Car shades in the past had been a really annoying affair that involved suction pads and black square of net that you stuck on the back windows in the hopes that it shaded little eyes from the harsh sunlight but in truth you fitted them and then an hour later down some country lane you pulled over and removed the shade from the child who had easily pulled it off the window and was beating its sibling with it in the backseat .. never to be used again.

I know I am not alone in that scenario, I have checked with other parents and it seems quite a common occurrence, or the toddler that spends the entire journey ‘pinging’ the metal frame of the generic car shade onto the window glass. So having them fitted into the car so no little fingers would be able to pull at them was something I was really pleased with!

Oh and there are several other facts that are worth considering, like the lower fuel costs having to use the air con less as the block out some of the heat .. Therefore lowering your emissions and fuel costs!

I like to give a balanced review when I try out products and so it is worth noting that Car Shades are not cheap but for me that showed in the design and the quality. Aesthetically they look amazing and are super practical so for me its a no brainer I honestly just wish we had them fitted sooner, however I am pleased to have them in now!
