When you think of adventures you think of sunny days and perfectly groomed children and idyllic photos.
Well, being a parent for the third time means I know all to well that the relaities of leaving the house with kids no matter what age is damn hard work. Being prepared for the inevitable change of clothing, nappies, food, snacks, wipes and toys is paramount to successful and less stressful trip but for me we have been managing this with the help of several bags. changing bag, handbag and them my trusty camera bag.
It’s certainly not easy to get out and about with so much baggage so when I got the chance to slim line my adventure baggage with the iconic Babymule changing bag I jumped at it. With a family weekend in Blackpool I was certainly looking to be prepared but also to get out and about without having to take the pushchair everywhere now Jacob likes to walk.

What Ollie and I loved about the bag was that it’s a lightweight design and it has 3 ways to carry it, from backpack to messenger bag to a bag you can clip onto a pushchair. Then there are the 2 heavy duty grab handles, one on the top and one down the sides which made for light work when moving around.
The bag has around 7 pockets I have found, but being the Tardis that it is it wouldn’t surprise me to find another when I am l least expecting it! There are also some super handy accessories that come with it:
- Changing pouch for nappies and wipes
- Padded wipe clean mat
- Insulated bottle/drink bag
- Large bag
The Babymule bag came into it’s own while away as I ditched my handbag in favour of one of the pockets in the Babymule bag, I emptied my camera bag (including camera and lenses) into the Babymule too (Although kept them in the padded grab bag for the extra protection) I anticipated that I would have filled the Babymule bag, however it still seemed to want more so I packed in the nappies, wipes, snacks, toddler drink and the obligatory change of clothing needed.
There are some clips on the bag you can use to clip the bag onto the pushchair I have tended to use the metal rings for the long strap instead as I already have pushchair hooks on there. Holding so much I had presumed the bag would catch on my legs while walking but to be honest It sat beautifully out of the way but leaving the bag in a hand place for me to access things needed quickly, like wipes and my camera!

The Babymule retails around the £89 mark but to be honest I have no doubt ours will be on many more adventures to come now I know I can take it all in one bag and remain hands free for chasing the toddler and preschooler.
The only downside for me is not having a Babymule bag from the start!
