Last year my parents decided to make the move of a lifetime and retire to the East coast.
They found a house they loved, packed up and shipped out early in the year in the middle of the last lockdown.
For my their move has been super hard. They have been my rock with the boys and if it hadn’t been for their support with the boys I am not sure I would have the business I have today. My Mum had been the biggest trooper for childcare support and selfishly I initially panicked when they said they were retiring to the seaside.
Their move to the East Coast meant we were around 2.5 hours drive away and being locked down it meant we were unable to even visit. I had been gutted.
Once lockdown eased I was so excited to get a trip booked in … however my car decided not to play ball and broke in a major way.
So after weeks waiting for the part to come in I was finally back on the road for the half term and the boys and I decided that was the perfect time to head to visit my parents and check out their new home and with the weather so unpredictable I took the new ‘In The Lead II Hooded Waterproof Jackets from Dare2b.
When we arrived the boys and I all got the guided tour and fell in love with their new garden and greenhouse, which is massive! The house is so much nicer than it was in the Rightmove photos online!
The boys tucked into some toast and jam since we set off before breakfast when we got there and the boys were right at home.
After the house tour and breakfast we headed with my parents to tick off the wish list of the boys: Sandcastle building, Ice cream, fish and chips and 2p machines!
Thankfully with the British weather against us we got overcast weather with a hint of possible rain so the Jackets came in handy on the beach and while walking around town. They had child friendly zips, are waterproof and breathable and even come with a 4 way stretch making them totally build for kid fun!
As the weather warmed up later in the day the boys easily removed their jackets and took sandcastle building with Grandad and obviously no beach trip is ever complete without burying one of the kids in the sand.
On the drive home I was so emotional. But thankfully peace descended as Jacob slept the whole journey home and Joshua slept over an hour or it too.
