Fresh Air And Pumpkin Picking

Fresh Air And Pumpkin Picking The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThis is officially the 3rd year we have been pumpkin picking and this is Jacob’s first to actually get out a pushchair and pick out his own pumpkin.

Jacob is not known for his patience and understanding so I was fairly anxious that he would be a little ‘wild’ in a field.

Thankfully he seemed to understand that we walk nicely, although the kids size wheelbarrows were super helpful and he adored being able to push one round the field. It was funny watching him try to navigate round so many pumpkins.

Maxey’s Farm shop pumpkin fields looked amazing in the afternoon sunlight.
Fresh Air And Pumpkin Picking The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseJoshua being the old hand at this pumpkin picking lark knew off the bat that he wanted a super round pumpkin with no markings on the outside. He did waver in his choice when he spotted some warty ones … and some white ones but he soon reverted back to his original football shaped preference.

Jacob had trouble picking his out as he wanted them all.

Jacob loved it so much he had to be carried to the car in tears as he wanted to stay!

Next year I have no doubt we won’t be able to get away with just one pumpkin each … we may need bigger wheelbarrows and lots more money and a whole week to select the chosen pumpkins … but bring on the fun.

For now however its now time to wait for the official carving afternoon and pumpkin soup to finish off the proper traditions.

Oh my goodness, they are gorgeous and growing up so fast! I loved Maxey’s and missed it this year. Lovely to see it with LOADS of pumpkins, think we got there later on last year.
