Fresh Air, Fish ‘n’ Chips and Fudge!

Fresh Air, Fish 'n' Chips and Fudge! The Oliver\\\'s Madhouse

Finally this Bank Holiday weekend we saw our plan to visit Matlock Bath come to fruition after the cancelled trip for Ollie’s Birthday on the 16th March due to snow! and what a lovely day it turned into!

To get 4 full days with my hubby is an infrequent occurrence and with snow still lingering we grabbed the bull by the horns, or should I say car keys from the side and set out on Friday for some fresh air, fish n chips and fudge!

So on arriving I have to say the sun was shinning (albeit a little cold) and it was one of the those days that made you feel glad you had got out your bed at 7 and got your arse into gear!

There was still some snow on the ground in places and the ducks were not massively forthcoming however with some snow being thrown instead of bread and Joshua shouting for them (picture above) there was the odd one still willing to take the chance at some possible lunch!

We had a lovely time all polished off with fish and chips and fudge …. perfect

P.s 2p machines are my weakness!

Looks fab! I know the feeling! We rarely get Jerry for such a long stretch. We managed to visit the new pup, go and buy a house and then flop for 2 days by the fire eating hot cross buns. BLISS! Roll on the next bank holiday! Margot xx

I am also a huge fan of the 2p machines. You spend all year trying to get rid of your coppers then you pay money to win them back haha!

I love the 2p machines, as does Samuel. On our recent caravan holiday Samuel spent so many 2p’s winning tickets out of machines for a prize – the prize was a tiny plastic toy that probably only cost 2p to mass produce ….but its the fun that counts…right? lol xxx

I grew up in Derby, and when I was a child Matlock Bath really was the closest thing we had to the seaside without a 5 hour drive to Skegness. It’s completely pants, but I adore it and still stop off on the way when I’m passing. I love the 2p machines too – every plasic rules is easily worth 2 hours and £3.64! 😀
