How to Pack Light and Stay Stylish on Your Summer Holiday

How to Pack Light and Stay Stylish on Your Summer Holiday The Oliver\\\'s Madhouse

Packing light is the secret to stress-free holidays.

Being limited to hand luggage might feel like a burden now, but you’ll feel totally free if you don’t need to lug a heavy suitcase around! Being able to look and feel good on holiday demands some expert know-how. When it’s done right, you’ll be turning heads on four corners of the globe.

From sumptuous beach holidays to action-packed city breaks, here’s how to pack light and look amazing on your next trip.

  1. Curate a capsule wardrobe

We think a capsule wardrobe must underpin any holiday packing strategy. You should try to focus on selecting interchangeable pieces in neutral colours: this will maximise the possible outfit combinations you can create.

Carefully add a variety of tops and bottoms, adding extra layers if they’re suitable for the weather conditions. Try to include skirts and shorts in block colours, since patterns or shapes may be hard to mix and match.

Remember, the way you store and fold your clothes in your bag could make all the difference. Try to choose clothes made from lightweight, space-saving fabrics – and fold the heaviest items first.

  1. Choose multi-functional women’s dresses

Next, if you’re planning to get dressed up and go out on holiday, it’s worth choosing your most versatile dresses. You might not be able to wear a different dress every night, so it’s worth focusing your efforts on pieces that transition seamlessly from day to night.

Go for timeless styles like sundresses or t-shirt dresses in breathable fabrics. Relaxed styles are easily adjusted with belts, for example. Plenty of women’s dresses can be accessorised to transform your look and match the occasion.

With just a few tweaks, you can enhance your outfit for a formal event.

  1. Select appropriate footwear

Regrettably, shoes take up a lot of space in your bag. Try to limit your footwear choices to just two or three essential pairs, including the ones you wear to the airport.

Think about the various activities you’ll be taking part in on holiday and try to plan your footwear around that. For example, if you’re planning on exploring a huge city centre, you’ll need a comfortable pair of trainers or sandals.

  1. Elevate your outfits

Making time to accessorise will help to accentuate your features and effortlessly upgrade your outfits while you’re on holiday.

Simple accessories like statement necklaces, scarves, and hats can transform add personal flair without taking up your luggage allowance. Before you get ready to leave for the airport, it’s worth taking the time to pick out jewellery and create ensembles to maintain a cohesive look.

  1. Leave room for a souvenir

Finally, don’t forget that you might want to leave a little bit of room in your suitcase for any clothes you buy while you’re on holiday.

Whether you’re buying it for yourself or for someone special at home, always allow some room for your wardrobe to expand. From souvenir t-shirts to flowing summer dresses, it’s possible that your wardrobe will grow while you’re away!
