Well, as much as I hate to say he is getting bigger, Joshua’s birthday weekend was a lovely one!
We started with a trip to Wheelgate Theme Park and Waterpark near Farnsfield in Nottinghamshire that we purchased annual passes for early in the year and with previous trips being fairly cold and damp we were excited to go and visit with sun shining.
For a Saturday I have to say I was fairly quiet which for us was amazing as there was barely any queuing and we got to explore without the hustle and bustle that other trips have had.

We tackled the maze and the rollercoaster (that was my favourite!) Joshua then got a ride on the giant slide and he even explored the newest attractions, the new play fort.

For lunch we headed into the play barn for some soft play fun and a burger then Joshua decided he would like to get wet and have a paddle in the splash park.

However it went from a paddle to a full on soaking as he headed onto the slides! After drying off we obviously squeezed in an ice-cream before heading home for some birthday cake.

The following day we finally got into the garden and had our first picnic and spent the afternoon watching the boys in the sprinkler.

Joshua finally got to play with his remote-controlled Yoshi and Bowser.
Bowser he got at Christmas and Yoshi he bought with his birthday money on the way home from Wheelgate the previous day.

As far as birthday weekends go it was so lovely to slow it down and get to spend some time with the kids in the sunshine celebrating Joshua’s 6th Birthday.
Happy Birthday Joshua!
Looking at the wooden park there reminds me of our trip today to Lowther Park… very similar playgrounds!
Aww looks like he had the best day. A very happy birthday to him from all of us x
