Leeds – The things you may not know you could do in Autumn

Leeds – The things you may not know you could do in Autumn The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseA few months ago I wrote the blog post 5 things you may not know you could do in Leeds well since the Autumn is tantalising us with the thoughts of crunchy leaves and crisp air its now time to look at what Leeds has to offer once more.

Autumn is without a doubt one of my favourite months, it’s the month that you can wrap up well and still enjoy everything outside that it was previously too hot to enjoy fully in the Summer … can you tell my other preferred month is Spring?

Living so close to Leeds means it’s a fairly easy travel for us, however I think we could easily make a weekend of it and stay over somewhere like Hotel Direct to really make the most of what is on offer.

So what does Leeds have in store for us this season?

Bonfire Night
With a toddler and teen, bonfire night is a hit with all members of this house and so making sure we get to at least one Bonfire night each year is a total must for us.

Roundhay Park offers the biggest and most amazing display in Leeds so for anyone that has to a love of all things bonfire and firework related it certainly needs to be on your list of activities!

Leeds Art Gallery
Since there is an abundance of Museums and Galleries in Leeds the one for me that I would love to visit this Autumn just happens to be the most famous one of Leeds museums, and no matter if you are a looking for something from the 19th century or something far more contemporary this Art Gallery has lots on offer!

Christmas Markets
One of my all time Autumnal treats is without a doubt the German Christmas Markets which start in Leeds on 14th November all the way through to the 20th December, with the fantastic german treats and the smells it’s a real winter warmer that only goes to build my excitement for Christmas coming!

You will also find the Christmas light switch on taking place on the 7th November in front of Leeds Art Gallery, where there will be live music (although not yet announced) and also some information is yet to come on their special guest!

The Leeds Fashion Show
Is now in its 8th year when it returns this year, with content from lots of exciting and independent designers it certainly sounds like it will be fun, and although I am not a full on fashionista I have to say I would love a sneaky peek at what Leeds Fashion Show is all about …. maybe even pick up some tips?!

Live Music
What about rounding off the Leeds outings with a trip to First Direct Arena with some live music? and through the Autumn there is a cracking line up with James Blunt, Bryan Adams and Michael Bublé!! to name just a few!

So what fun will you be getting up to this Autumn?
