May Bank Holiday Weekend

May Bank Holiday Weekend The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseLast weekend we only had 2 days as a family and yet the list of things we wanted to fit in was somewhat unreasonable.

The biggest job on the list for the weekend was to finally get into the sheds and sort them out, be ruthless on clearing out the clutter and finally get some proper shelving up so we can organise what stuff we were keeping.

With Jacob in his Pop n Play playpen set up on the garden and all hands on deck we started the de-cluttering … but my god I had no idea at how much stuff we actually had!

It took hours to get both emptied and with 2 cars loads to the tip and another 3 tip run to do this week I think we made great progress. Well, at least we can get in them now.

Ollie and I finally got a night out, just the 2 of us so we headed to a local Chinese that we love to get to eat a meal without having a baby throw food on the floor, or eat so quickly we barely taste it. This meal was delicious and subsequently followed by a film at home without having the volume on so low we would have to lip read… it was fabulous.
May Bank Holiday Weekend The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseSunday was a family day of fun and fresh air after we had picked up the kids from Ollie’s parents. Although we had planned on going to Matlock the fact its immensely busy on bank holidays we chicken out and decided to take a trip to a local park with the boys instead and I am glad we did.

Being surrounded by such wonderful villages we are so very lucky that some of the surrounding villages have some beautiful play equipment, our village has 2 parks but yet both have graffiti on have damage to them so it was nice to be able to visit a park that was in such wonderful condition.

We were the only ones there until out last ten minutes so it was nice to see the boys play.

Jacob mainly just wandered round and Joshua just climbs everything in sight.

I love moment like this, from an entire weekend I have no doubt the only memories I will have in a years time will be the ones of the boy’s and their smiling faces on that park not of Ollie and I sweating clearing out the shed.

It’s amazing at just how much a small part of the weekend can take over the whole weekend in such a good way.

Here’s to the next bank holiday weekend.
