Those of you that know me personally will know of my love of the Yorkshire coastal region, especially my love of Whitby.
Whitby is the place Ollie and I eloped too and married and its the place we travelled to on finding out we were expecting our first son, where we spent the weekend dreaming of what life was about to give us.

Last week we headed off to Bramblewick Cottage in Larpool, on the edge of Whitby for a family holiday we had booked with Ollie’s parents.
The cottage was beautiful, it over looked the old viaduct and with a small number of holiday type homes down there at night it was immensely quiet.
By foot my in-laws and husband said it was a really lovely walk into Whitby, however with no proper access for a pushchair I drove in the loan car we were using with the boys.
During the holiday we were immensely lucky yo have some really beautiful weather and we packed in a fair amount for a week!
We ate Fish and Chips, we visited Sandsend and Scarborough…

There was ice-cream, and 199 steps too.

Some rock pooling and fossil hunting.

Some paddling.

Making new friends.

And facing new challenges.
We had some amazing day trips, one into Scarborough where we jumped on the open-topped sightseeing tour bus and watched the waves while traveling into town before heading to Peasholm Park so Ollie could take Joshua on a pedalo, however Ollie chickened out on doing it alone so my poor Mother in Law was roped in too!

The holiday was a really lovely week with some much-needed relaxation and a lot of laughter… even if most of it was my Father in Laws obsession with use of toilet roll. (Sorry Geoff)
Roll on later in the year when we are so very lucky to be going on another holiday!

It looks like you had a fantastic time. Whitby is somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and definitely somewhere I’ll be considering in the next few years. It looks utterly beautiful. ☺️
It looks like fun was had by all x
Aww it looks like you all had such a lovely time! I also love Whitby – my now husband and I met at Durham university and would often have day dates in Whitby 🙂 #MagicMoments
