Our Midweek Family Meal Ideas With Dolmio

Recently we have been overhauling our family teatime meals and have tended to favour meals that can feed us all quickly but with lots of flavour along with recipes that are great for freezing and batch cooking too. One of the families favourite meals is Spaghetti Bolognese so when we recently heard about the super #ThankGoodness challenge with Britmums and Dolmio we jumped at the chance to take part as I love Bolognese style recipes as I love it because I pack it with vegetables that even the pickiest of eaters will devour.

Our Spaghetti Bolognese

For my spag bol I half cook the mince, add in the mushrooms and onion until they have softened and the mince is fully cooked.

I then throw in the diced carrots, courgettes and pepper and stir for minute, then add in the Dolmio sauce and stir.

Then simmer in the pan until everything has softened .. and serve.

It always seems to go down well!

Dolmio, Chicken and Potatoes
We don’t just stop there though as we have another family favourite, this is super simple and great for batch cooking and freezing too and its also another great recipe to add in veggies too!

 Ingredients:

To make this is another super simple meal. Firstly you need to cube the potatoes and part boil them so they are starting to soften.

Then cube the chicken breasts, fry till browned, add in crushed garlic and onion and fry for a few minutes.

Throw in diced peppers and cherry tomatoes along with the Dolmio sauce and give it a good stir then add in the pinch of black pepper.

Next drain off the potatoes and stir them into the sauce.

Depending upon how big your potatoes were its worth baring in mind you may have to add in a drop of water while it cooks for the next 10-15 minutes (I use the empty Dolmio jar and give it a shake to make sure I use all the tasty juice)

I use both of these dishes for batch cooking and freezing and so for a swift tasty tea with the kids I just double the quantities and then freeze some too! Thats a win win for me.
