Sleep Is For The Weak
I think it’s been nearly eight years since I had a decent night’s sleep, , (now 7 1/2 years old) and I couldn’t sleep properly. I would toss and turn, then eventually I gave in so quite often I’d get up at 2am or 4am and come downstairs, have a cuppa and a toasted cinnamon bagel with lashings of butter (goodness, as I write this, I can still taste it!) I used to go on Facebook and chat to all my other pregnant friends (well there were two of them who regularly had the same issue. Jeezo, I bet they are sorted now!
Buddy didn’t sleep well, we tried controlled crying, changed him from a cot into a bed at 11 months, then finally when he started school, he slept through. But in the meantime Bubbles came along. Now Bubbles was a dream to start with, he would go down at 6.30pm right through til 6.30am – I’d dream feed him at about 11pm. So what went wrong. I have absolutely no idea!
I feel like I have tried everything, but he still won’t sleep unless he is beside me. Well that said he goes down to sleep ok, then during the night he comes through to me. I am not sure why and there is no special time, so it’s hard to break. I have tried everything from keeping him up, to keeping a routine, but nothing seems to work.
I know – I can hear you all screaming – just take him back! Well I tried this for four nights and near on killed me and still there was no let up
So what’s the solution – well I’ve gone and ordered a super kingsize and looking forward to delivery with a memory foam mattress – I won’t care who comes into my bed – I am a Mum in serious need of sleep!
