Starting My Slimming World Journey

Starting My Slimming World Journey The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseOK, it seems a little cliche to start the year jumping on a fitness bandwagon but my fitness journey has actually been going on for a while.

I blogged about it for years on here and my battle to keep my weight going down but the pressure got to much and I failed.

Over the last year I have not really mentioned too often about my weight loss and fitness journey until just before Christmas when I spoke about why I am on a fitness journey not a weight loss one.

Last March I discovered a love of Boogie Bounce. Don’t know what Boogie Bounce is? Think dancing on a mini trampoline to super songs in the dark with neon lights and you’re just about there. My instructor is so great that I tried several of her other classes too and started doing 4 classes a week, 2 Boogie Bounce, 1 Clubbercise (retro dancing in the dark) and 1 step fitness class.

Starting My Slimming World Journey The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI can honestly say that I was probably the fitness I have been in the last decade but my eating was still not great. Food has always been my weakness and I have always had an unhealthy obsession with carbs, particularly bread and potatoes. It is something that left to my own devices has been nothing if not dire and with so many faddy un-family friendly diet under my belt I need to look at food in another light.

My friend and I are both struggling on the food front and in a bid to get better understanding of foods and to build a healthier eating pattern for the whole family. So I am about to embark on my journey with Slimming World.

It has not been about New Year new me and I certainly haven’t set any kind of resolutions I am just taking the next step to better my own health and fitness.

Over the last 8 years I have watched some of my online friends start their own weight and fitness journeys and so many of my friends have been using the Slimming World method of getting control of their weight and fitting it into their family lives.

Vicky from Verily Victoria Vocalises has done so well with her Slimming World journey she is now running her own group locally to her and supporting others! (if only she lived closer! )

The lovely Emma from Mrs Shilts is also embarking on her Slimming World journey this month and I am thrilled to have a found an online chum to hopefully support each other too!

So watch this space. I may have turned 40 still being fat but my goodness I won’t be turning 41 the same size! I want better health and fitness all round and loosing some weight is the only thing now holding me back.

Happy new year and best of luck. I’ve downloaded the couch to 5k app and I’m basically nil by mouth 😉

Good luck, it is cliché but now is a great time to start as you are fed up with eating crap and want to eat and feel better plus it gets you ready for the summer. I love Slimming World, I don’t think of it as a diet though, more as a healthy way of eating (as I make lots of delicious meals from scratch and I also some from my old Weight Watchers and Rosemary Conley cookbooks) with the bonus of losing weight!

Yay, and another one ! lol. I’ve just written another similar message to another blogger, who was in our weight loss linky way back when ! Since my husband died two years ago, my weight has been steadily rising and I’ve decided to get back on track as of now. So I’ll be following you and cheering you on – no slimming world here so I’ll be dealing with it all by myself though ! Love the sound of your classes – great fun ! xx

Awww, thank you so much for the mention lovely. I do wish I was closer to you. I’m going on a huge leaflet delitthis weekend to attract more members and I will be thinking of you. Even though I’m not close, it’s not going to stop me from supporting you online. You are going to LOVE food optimising. The majority of our family meals are Slimming World ones now. I look forward to seeing how you get on and cheering you on xx
