Way back in the summer I had the privilege of discovering the STIHL Compact Cordless range of product and feel in love with the idea of professional quality especially for a more everyday day gardeners.
We had the chance to review the Compact Cordless Grass Trimmer and loved it.
However having not really got on well with Hedge Trimmers in the past we were hoping the Compact Cordless one would change how we felt about this biannual gardening task.
We have always struggled in the past with hedge trimming as the hedges and foliage that occurs on both our front garden and back garden all comes from neighbouring properties and are not trimmed. Thankfully our neighbours have been happy to allow us to tackle them from our side as they have been known to block the light but they are more difficult to get to with uneven surfaces and solid fences between.

As with the STHIL Compact Cordless Grass Trimmer we loved how the range offers you the ability to swap and use each others batteries. So instead of waiting for the Hedge Trimmers battery to charge we slipped in the battery for Grass Trimmer while we charged our Hedge Trimmers battery.

I loved how easy the STHIL Hedge Trimmer is to use with its well positioned trigger grip and push button to use it has been a dream to use even with small hands.
It was super quiet when in use and I felt at ease using it from the start.

Cutting the privet style hedge on the front and then the softer plants on the back garden were both a dream and it took less than half the time to do this most hated job compared to normal which was epic in my book.
I do have to say cordless for me was totally refreshing, as not having to waste time and energy constantly moving cables out the way meant we were free to move where we needed too instead of having to strategically plan where we could reach too.
Conclusion
The STIHL Compact Cordless Hedge Trimmer currently retails at £149 for the tool only or £199 with the battery and charger too. Which I thought personally was not a bad price. Add it together with the freedom this range gives you from cables and the quality of the job it produces and I have totally fallen in love with this range.
I have no doubt the STIHL Compact and Cordless pieces I have will be tackling our family garden for many years to come and anything that makes doing those gardening jobs quicker and effectively makes me happy.
Thank you STHIL for allowing us to get hands on with the Hedge Trimmer at home.

This looks relatively easy to use, where we live at present, doesn’t have hedges, only fencing, but our previous property, had a really high hedge, around the front of the garden, this would have made cutting it back a lot simpler, although, I must confess, it wasn’t me, but, my husband, who under took the task!
