Family life can be an incredibly stressful experience. Whilst we love and cherish our partners, children and pets, sometimes being around them can cause undue amounts of stress as we try to arrange everything with little help.
I know I sometimes struggle to keep on top of everything with all the different things I need to think about so here are some of my top tips for taking the pressure of family life.
Delegate
Every person in the house should be doing their bit. Obviously younger ones are not going to be doing the same things as the older people in the household but the home is the responsibility of everyone.
Make them put their plate in the sink or dishwasher when they are finished, put their dirty clothes in the laundry basket and maybe even put their clean clothes away. If everyone works together, life should become much simpler.
Batch Cook
Another great way to take the pressure off is to batch cook. Instead of finding the cook to make multiple meals every single day, simply your routine.
Spend one day every few weeks batch cooking some of your favourite meals and popping them in the freezer. Then on those days you are struggling to find time to cook, just pop one of those in the oven.
Use A Laundry Service
Laundryheap are a company that are there to help you with all of your laundry needs. They offer laundry, dry cleaning and ironing with free collection and delivery as well as real time driver tracking and order status notifications! genius!
Laundry is one of my biggest bugbears. With both us adults working outside the home and the kids at school, our washing baskets fill up pretty quickly and I sometimes struggle to keep up with the loads. With time of the essence, especially now as I prepare to open my business back up, a laundry service like Laundryheap could be just what I need with its 24 hour a day service.
Laundryheap here in the UK can be found in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Coventry and also in Ireland they have a base in Dublin.
Outside of the UK you can find them operating in Duabi in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. In the Netherlands they can be found in Amsterdam and Haarlem. In Qatar the have a branch in Doha. The U.S.A they have branches in New York and Boston. In Kuwait they are in Kuwait City. Manama in Bahrain and finally a branch in Singapore.
Follow A Cleaning Routine
Certain cleaning should be done every day but other things only need doing once a week or so. Instead of doing all of them in one as well as all the daily cleaning you need to do, set yourself a cleaning routine.
Do daily cleaning tasks and the kitchen one day, daily cleaning and the bathroom the next, and so on. Breaking it up room by room makes it a lot easier to handle and less stressful when you actually come to do it. Or if finances allow, you could even get a cleaner to come in to give you even more time back to do other things. Keeping on top of the housework and cleaning is important or you run the risk of finding bugs and nasties in your home. If this is the case for you, then you may need the services of a reputable company like aptive pest control NC to help you tackle any infestations effectively.
Utilise Lists & Calendars
Fed up of trying to remember everyone’s different appointments alongside the things you need to get from the grocery store or the pharmacy? Lists and calendars are your friend – as soon as you run out of something or book an appointment, write it down.
This is essential when you have kids – mine always seem to be having appointments and attending various clubs and it can easy to get confused about when they are!
These are just a few of my top tips for making family life that little less stressful. Do you have any tips?
