I have always been a massive fan of Toby Carvery and my best friend and I plan so many of our day time meet ups at a Toby Carvery halfway between the two of us as they are immensely family friendly and there is always so much choice with a Menu and the option of eating their famous carvery we can keep even the biggest gathering happy.
Just before Christmas our nearest Toby Carvery, Colwick Park had a refit and we have been meaning to head back over to check it out and last week we finally got to go for tea.
Colwick Park is super easy to get to and has plenty of parking spaces which is something not all eateries having in Nottingham. Inside they have had a clear out of walls which has opened up the whole feel inside with its more open plan layout.
The refit has kept the same country feel that is synonymous of the Toby Carvery chain but with some true Toby touches!
We all decided to go for the carvery option instead of eating from the menu as we love the amount of choice you have with the meats and vegetables. I opted for Gammon and turkey and their famous Yorkshire puddings that are practically the size of the plate! the meat was succulent and tasty and vegetables were delicious and there was plenty to choose from so even our pickiest eater (Jacob) ate his tea.
Toby gravy is another of my most favourite things and it was nice to be back and be reminded of just how tasty tea times can be.
The Staff were super helpful and were very accommodating of our requests for a bowl for our toddler and they all made a fuss of him, which he obviously basked in!
I must admit that normally at Toby Cavery we never tend to eat puddings as we are so full from tea that we cant squeeze in anything else. However we decided that we would try to make room this time.
Joshua opted for profiteroles, I had the honeycomb sundae, Ollie the cookie dough sundae and we ordered Jacob a brownie sundae … which was enormous and he had a damn good go at eating the lot!
For the prices (from £3.99) they were excellent value and all went down immensely well.
We loved the facelift Toby Cavery, Colwick Park and we will certainly back for tea and breakfast soon!
