From finding out you are pregnant for the whole duration of the pregnancy it seems that you count down from one appointment to another or from one month to the next, everything is a countdown to the next phase.
For me this has certainly been the case and I have counted down from one hospital appointment or scan to another and in the mix I have had 3 normal midwives appointment …. This week I have had my 4th and final midwife appointment and it all seems very real.
I am not sure why it’s feeling like its come as a surprise but this final visit marks the end of a chapter, I am not sure if it’s because this pregnancy has been by far my easiest in terms of less complicated than either of the two previous pregnancies but it certainly does feel like its come round very quickly now.
With no more babies planned for the future it seems rather exciting to be ending my time visiting the midwife as we are looking forward to the new arrival, however it’s also a little sad that this time has now finished.
I certainly won’t be missing the urine samples … or blood tests … or the battered pregnancy notes that have followed me round for the last 9 months but I will miss the feeling of my baby moving in my tummy, I will miss hearing his heartbeat inside me and knowing I am growing my son and giving him everything he needs to become a person.
But I will miss that this part of my life is over and a new chapter is about to begin and although it’s exciting I am still feeling scared at the body shocker that is a new-born baby!
The only thing left now till we get to meet this baby is the pre-op appointment in just over a 14 days and then that’s it the end of the pregnancy and a new chapter being Mum to another little boy.
Your pregnancy has gone so quickly. Not long now and you will have your beautiful new baby boy in your arms xx
I can’t believe how quickly it has gone! this last 2 weeks has started to drag and 16 days till section but overall its been so quick! … xx
I had my last midwife appt yesterday too! It’s really hit home that I’m on the last stretch now, I find myself feeling emotional about it as well! x
oh my goodness that how i felt too .. in fact i just wanted to have a cry in the car and hubs thought i was slightly nuts lol .. good luck lovely x
I can’t believe that you’ve had your last midwife appt, it doesn’t seem that long ago that you announced that you were pregnant.
awww Sarah I have to admit as i am now 12 days from the section … i am not sure where the last 9 months have gone!

Those last few weeks of pregnancy are very strange aren’t they. I remember being so ready to meet my little girl the second i reached 37 weeks (I still had three more weeks to wait) But I definitely thought a lot about not being pregnant anymore. Even now – a year later – I still miss that feeling of her moving in my belly. I hope your last couple of weeks goes well and i wish you all the best and look forwarding to reading about your new arrival! #MagicMoments

It is weird isn’t it when you know this is most likely the last time you will feel that way. I feel a little bittersweet each time I see a pregnant woman in the Doctors surgery waiting room clutching her notes waiting for the midwife appointment. Good luck xx #magicmoments

Wow really not long to go now! There seems to have been a baby boom recently, I’m seeing so many cute baby photos all over my social media feeds I’m scarily feeling a little broody ha!
