If you read my post a couple of weeks ago about undertaking the house sort and redecoration you will know that this years half finished decorating jobs and the redecoration and refresh of the kitchen has been a bigger task than I originally anticipated.
I have had super limited time but I have managed to finally complete my bedroom repaint, downstairs toilet and the hall, stairs and landing. But the Kitchen has remained untouched since I wrote my post and I am not going to lie I have been maskable frustrated.
We knew all along that we couldn’t afford to replace the kitchen and even shopped around at options and although a full refit was out of the question we are still very much interested in replacement kitchen doors still however that’s something we are still looking at for the new year.
Colour wise I have spent along time going backwards and forwards with my colour choices and would love to go really dark in the kitchen as dark wall colours can look utterly stunning but its not the biggest of room so decided to go with a feature wall of maker grey and lighter on the rest.
This week however we have finally finished the painting and I have been shopping for shelving to use what space we have to extend the storage in the kitchen for the interim and we have been looking at accessories that won’t eat into either the worktop space or wall space either.
Overall for a super minimum budget I am fairly happy with how it’s now looking. I am on the final push this weekend as I have a local builder coming to put up the shelving around the room and then its time to finally add the finishing touches to complete the room.
It will certainly be fantastic to finally start putting the tools, rollers and paint away so we aren’t surrounded by it all while eating our Christmas lunch. It has been a long old year with all the odd job hanging around as it was too hot through the spring and summer to get anything really done. But I am now beginning to love all the corners now of my home and I can’t wait to show you soon what I have been doing while I have been missing in action here on my blog.
We are looking into refreshing our kitchen in the New year, I love the colour you have chosen.
