A little while ago we were very kindly sent out a magical gift.
A Fairy Door from the Irish Fairy Door Company.
The Irish Fairy Door Company creates 12cm high magical doors that you can place inside your home or outside to bring a little magic to your space.
We were sent the beautiful red arched door and we thrilled with it. The door came with a little note-book, some coins, a contract and a magic key in a bottle!
Joshua was excited from the off as he has an elf at christmas and loves the concept of magic.
The door comes with a lovely book that explains the story but leaves the story open slightly for interpretation so that allowed us to tell him that Cecil (his elf) can pop by from time to time to to check everything out too!
The website for the doors is really super cute and it has masses of little accessories you can buy to customise your fries home or garden. It also has some really great features on there too, from registering your fairy, naming it to fairy facts and stories too!
Joshua loved the little key and has popped it safe and has written his new fairy a note to welcome it to the family.
The contract that comes with them is really cute and nicely worded so Joshua (age 6) read it easily and understood it all too.
we had already decided that our new fairy door was going to be placed in a magic spot. Our old loved apple free! However since it was going outside the website advised me to coat in varnish first so I popped on some clear varnish. On a side note if you are vanishing it you must paint the non brightly coloured areas first as the colour will run slightly so when I did it a tiny bit of the red was transferred to the wooden area and the white leaves of the flower.
Overall I love this concept of this door but more to the point Joshua loved the product massively so it was a hit!
We are now a family with a brand new fairy, however it still doesn’t have a name as Joshua can’t stick with a name yet so its been called several so the way its going we may end up with more than one fairy.
