Its been a well documented fact here on my little slice of the internet that my health has been *cough cough* interesting.
I have had 3 c-sections, a gallbladder removal, abdominal surgery for adhesions sticking my bladder and bowls to the section scar and to add to the list I have an unstable pelvis that needs surgery to fix.
Add into the mix the low levels of Vitamin B12 and non-existent Vitamin D and its fair to say I have had enough of feeling like pants and surely I could focus maybe on the last operation .. The one on my hips now I have finished having children?
But no this tired, weary and worn women has yet another surgery to face to put my insides back in the right place.
I have developed a massive hernia.
On Friday of last week I had the official confirmation that in fact it looks like c-section wound has in fact burst its banks and allowed my bowls to go for a free for all beyond the cavity of my core and are now protruding outside my tummy and are causing some agonising pain.
It wasn’t just confirmed the my section scar has burst open but also my abdominal muscles below my belly button has also torn open and I am in fact fully dropping to pieces.
Part of me feels excited and hopeful that once this operation is done I can get my life and finally take control of my weight loss in a new and more drastic way than pottering with it like I am doing now.
The other part of me is out-and-out terrified that surgery number 6 is on the cards, surgery pain and the stress of having to rely on other people to help me with Jacob is already beginning to rear its head and I have yet to speak to the consultant.
Next on this surgery journey is to meet with the consultant and decide which operation we go for, keyhole surgery or full open abdominal surgery which of course is a more major surgery and comes with a far longer recovery time.
Until then I will keep waiting.
