Top 3 UK Camping Trip Destinations for Children

Top 3 UK Camping Trip Destinations for Children The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe kids can be a particularly hard lot to satisfy when it comes to outdoor fun however camping affords an excellent opportunity for the whole family and over the last 2 years we have certainly been getting in on the action. I am certainly not alone in getting the kids outside and camping and so many of my friends are also avid campers so to help us plan some destinations for next year I have been asking them for recommendations of their top child friendly destinations and here they are!

Forgewood Camping in Kent, England

Fairytale is forged into beautiful reality at this scenic wooded area in Danegate that boasts beguiling woodland huts, numerous forest trails and, most notably, an eccentric depiction of Winnie the Pooh that is sure to tickle the taste buds of the little ones. Particularly active kids with more than enough energy to spare will find the Harrisons Rocks challenging enough while there are also a plethora of other fun-filled activities to participate in such as cycling, walking and, courtesy of the nearby Bewl Water Outdoor Center, invigorating water sports. Mother Nature is also on beautiful display across campsites cast gracefully against the backdrop of a calming water body while endearing wildlife is on show at a deer park on the 300-acre country estate.

Situated at the heart of the artistic wonder that is Cairngorms National Park and lying just a stone’s throw away from the bewitching shores of Loch Morlich, Glenmore is one of those subtle yet lovable camping sites. It is most known for its water-based pastimes like sailing and canoeing and is dotted with great family picnic spots at almost every turn. Children can learn the ropes of fishing and various other skills like hammock camping and outdoor survival at an out-of-this-world location that they are sure to fall in love with. The park is among the most well endowed in the country with state-of-art facilities encompassing laundry, dishwashing, showers and toilets which are in abundance.

Anglesey Island is an award-winning campsite that is particularly popular for providing the ultimate camping experience for large and small families alike courtesy of the family ownership under which it operates. With more than 20-acres of earth complemented by beautiful meadows and overflowing wooded areas punctuated by essential social amenities such as a children’s play area, bar and coffee shop, there’s much to see and much to do. From riding a horse on the beach to fishing for dinner in a heavenly paradise, the whole family will be spoilt for choice.

The United Kingdom is littered with first-rate camping destinations and these three are certainly among the pick of the bunch from my camping buddies .. If you are a camping fan where would you recommend?
