Being a Bank Holiday Monday and staying in the most questionable hotel we needed to get out and explore but wanted it to be within walking distance of the hotel (although if you’re not staying locally there is a car park in the village at the start of the walk down to Linton Falls)
With blazing sunshine and plenty of energy to burn we started our walk down to the falls taking in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and the first sign of arrival is when you spot the bridge that spans some of the falls.
Obviously being in the summer months the waterfalls are lower on water and not as dramatic as I believe they can be in the colder months but still they are stunning to look at and with a further short walk you can get down to the river bank where Joshua and Jacob were eager to get in and paddle.
It’s a really beautiful location and if I had realised just what it was like down there I would have packed us up a picnic and beach towels and we could have spent the whole day by the river.
