Why London Is The Perfect City For First-Time Expats

Why London Is The Perfect City For First-Time Expats The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseAre you a first-time expat? Here are some reasons why I think London is the perfect city for you. There are so many reasons why living in London is great.

Before taking the plunge though, you may want to take a look around on a tourist basis. A stay at the Park Grand Hyde Park London will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to start the day.

So why is London the perfect city for first-time expats?

The History

London has so much interesting history and it can be seen all around you in the capital city. The Tower of London has such an interesting story as does Pudding Lane, the location of the Great Fire of London. If you are looking to truly immerse yourself in a city, looking into the history of the places around you is a great way to start.

London is home to such a great mix of cultures that you can often find many different cuisines on your doorstep. You don’t have to head too far to get Chinese, Thai, Greek, Vietnamese – you want it, London can probably offer it!

The transport links

If there is something London does well, it is the public transport. If you are moving here full time for education or work, good transport links are often a must and there are plenty of different types of public transport you can catch as the London bus, the Underground, the DLR or even a river boat if you prefer a quieter journey.

The culture

When it comes to London’s culture, you will be blown away. There is an amazing music scene with plenty of live music venues, plenty of fashion events and of course, the many museums and galleries to check out – many of which are free too! If you are looking for an amazing cultural experience, you’d be hard pushed to find a better one than London in the UK.

As I mentioned above, London is one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world which makes it amazing for reminding you of home. There are plenty of different cultures living in the capital, there are bound to be other people from your home country to meet with. Plus you’ll also get to meet even more people from other nationalities – it is a great way to meet new friends.

Plenty of green space

Why London Is The Perfect City For First-Time Expats The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseDespite London being the capital city and very busy, there are actually plenty of green spaces. There are numerous parks and gardens for you to explore, often leading to forget you are in such an urban landscape.

If this doesn’t convince you just how perfect London is for first-time expats, then I don’t know what will. It is a wonderful city and a place that everyone should get to experience at least once.
