5 Simple Ways To Transform Your Guest Room

5 Simple Ways To Transform Your Guest Room The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseOften, people forget about their guest room. Focusing their efforts on redecorating their own bedroom, kitchen or another area of the house, the spare room is often neglected. However, by taking the time to do up the spare room, not only are you making a welcoming space for your guests when they come to stay, but you’re also increasing the value of your home in the long term.

At the moment, people have more time to spare due to what’s happening in the world. Which means it’s the perfect time to tackle the DIY guest room transformation. Now, this doesn’t have to involve big or expensive changes. Just simple ones that match your style and budget.

To get you started, here are 5 ideas that you can use within your guest room, to give it that TLC it deserves:

  • Make a Pallet Wall

In the last few years, this design-choice has really taken off. A stylish and contemporary addition to any guest room, it will make it feel very cosy and welcoming for your guests.

With so much inspiration around this on sites such as Pinterest, you’re bound to find a style that matches the interior. Transforming your guest room into an alpine lodge, it can be complemented with copper or rustic touches.

  • Paint The Walls

This might seem like an obvious one, but it truly will make all the difference to your guest room. Some of the most popular options at the moment are grey, emerald and royal blue.

The colour that you choose will, of course, depend on the atmosphere you want the room to have. For example, if you want it to be cosy, you might opt for a darker colour. Whereas if you want it to feel more spacious, then a lighter colour is just the ticket.

  • Add Some Art

Next comes the stage in which you can add features to the walls. And a great way to do this is through painting art. Contemporary or traditional, art can complement the colour that you’ve painted on the walls whilst adding a unique feature to look at. One of the best finishing touches you can add, it can be as budget-friendly or as expensive as your wallet allows!

  • Invest in Blankets

In this country, we have a mix of different weather conditions. Typically rainy or cold, it’s good to have thicker duvets and blankets to keep you warm. Which is why blankets are such a wonderful addition to your guest room. Making it feel cosy and comfortable, your guests aren’t going to want to leave their bed in the morning!

  • Work on The Lighting

What would any bedroom be without good lighting? Not only should you consider updating the main light in the room to something that matches the rest of the new interior, but you should also consider buying a table lamp to make the room feel more welcoming in the evening.

5 Simple Ways To Transform Your Guest Room The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseNo one likes to just have the main light that’s far too bright when the sun goes down after all! Alongside this, fairy lights are also a perfect way to create a snug atmosphere.
