Britax Römer have been the front-runner in car seat safety for many years and over the last year have introduced some amazingly innovative products onto the baby market and the Black Series KIDFIX II XP SICT is no different.
The usual iconic white shell of the Britax Römer car seats had a facelift and they turned this special edition into a black shelled beauty. But that is the tip of the iceberg as the KIDFIX II XP SICT is packed with safety features deserving of all our precious cargo.
The Britax Römer KIDFIX II XP SICT Black Series is a high-backed booster designed to cater for children aged from 4-12 years ( 15 – 36 kg ) and is used with the cars own seatbelt positioned in the correct place with the innovative XP-PAD, that is designed to offer correct positioning of the seatbelt across the childs chest and extra padding should you be unfortunate enough to be in a collision by diverting up to 30% of the impact force away from the childs neck.

A reasonably new feature that I have spotted on several of Britax Römer child car seats, including on this one is the unique SecureGuard, which works by ensuring optimal lap belt positioning to make sure that the lap belt sits in the correct position at all times across the pelvic bones. With both these innovative features it obviously goes above and beyond the legal safety standards and just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I was wrong.

The Britax Römer Black Series KIDFIX II XP SICT comes with the versatility of being able to use with the ISOFIX anchors in the car and the cars internal seat belt or just belted and without the ISOFIX. This makes it easier to purchase one product that fits both ways if you are a two car family, with one car with ISOFIX and one car without ISOFIX like we are as it easily transitions from one car to another.

On the sides of the Britax Römer KIDFIX II XP SICT there are the round XP SICT features. These are designed to be unscrewed on the side of the car seat that is nearest the car door and they work by absorbing some of the energy from any collisions. Along with the deep sides of the seat, it will help protect from shoulder to hip. Personally I liked that Joshua looks cocooned into the seat and not perched on it like some seats.

The large V-shaped headrest Joshua says is super comfortable and he has nodded off and used it as a pillow! .. It’s also easy to adjust the headrest and XP-PAD at the same time meaning ensuring it’s at the correct height is super easy.
I am a massive fan of this seat and this is the seat Jacob will also be travelling in once he is big enough, although at the moment is super happy in his DUALFIX i-SIZE that we reviewed HERE.
Thank you Britax Römer for keeping the boys safe and giving me great peace of mind all while being super comfy and exceptionally stylish too!
