This Summer while camping in North Wales we headed to Llandudno for the day with the kids as it was only about 20 minutes from our campsite.
We parked on the parade and it was ideally placed for getting to the pier, the Great Orme Tramway and the town centre itself. It was also reasonably priced!
The first visit of the day was to the Great Orme Tramway which we wrote about HERE. The second most important thing to do on any seaside visit is to head to the pier and find some 2p machines.
Llandudno pier is beautiful and packed with things to see and do. There are arcades, amusements and even some children’s rides and obviously there is an array of different foods and snacks to munch on.
We meandered up the pier and after a couple of rides for the kids we headed to the end of the pier for some 2p machine action. There really is nothing like some 2p tat winnings to make a UK holiday complete.
For lunch we headed into town and found a super fish and chip shop set back from the sea front and main shops and they were amazing!
After lunch we jumped on the Llandudno land train and got to see some other parts of Llandudno and at the other end the kids got chance to blow off some steam on the play park before we headed back on the Llandudno land train back to the main beach area.
Due to the weather we didn’t plan to spend time on the beach but would certainly love to head back again as the beach looked beautiful.
Llandudno was a great seaside location and ideal having a good mix of the UK seaside cheesiness and also having plenty of shops on tap too.
For families looking for inside activities I know that just outside Llandudno there is a cinema complex and several fast-food restaurants. (The KFC was lush we picked up on one of our days out)
Have you been to Llandudno before?

I love Llandudno! I only live around 45 minutes from there. I have been there 100s of times. It’s a lovely place.
Those Alice in Wonderland characters are all over Llandudno.. so you’re able to find all the characters 🙂 I’ve not done it yet but will be very soon! Hopefully!
Glad you had a great time. Love reading posts about local places.
