Recently I was sent a fairly new product on the block. A Neos SmartCam to try out at home and I was genuinely excited. Normally technology comes with a fairly hefty price tag so knowing that the Neos SmartCam has a low price of just £19.99 (excluding shipping) I was interested to find out if the Neos SmartCam was going to be a good buy.
First up it’s worth mentioning the setup of the SmartCam. It took all of about 3 minutes. The first stage is to download the app onto your phone and then connect the camera to the power cord and follow the on screen instructions on the app.

It has great on-screen instructions and with an audio feedback on several of the steps even the more technically challenged of us (and this does include me) will be able to get up and running really easily.

With the SmartCam you can add several people to the household and you can choose to arm it when the last person on the household list leaves the house and it will automatically unarm once the first person on the household list arrives back. During the time it is armed it will send notifications to the app if it detects sound and motion.
The SmartCam can be live streamed and has sharp 1080p full HD, night vision, 8x digital zoom and even has 2-way audio so you can talk through the camera to anyone in the room via the app.
I have loved how easy it was to set up and for me I love how when I am away with work I can still keep an eye on my kids *cough cough* OK I mean keep my eye on my husband and kids … after all I have seen the destruction that is my house when I get back!
The kids have loved the talk back feature and love the fact I can set off Alexa with funny songs using the app. Although to do this you need to speak very clearly and be in a quiet place on the app end for the sound to come through clearly enough for Alexa to pick it up. There really is nothing like Mummy setting off the greatest showman songs from afar!

Joshua said we could put them in the guinea pig hutch to keep and eye on Mario & Luigi, however I don’t think that would be super safe as they are outside and its for indoor use only. It would work however for any indoor pets!

Competition
If you fancy winning a Neos SmartCam then head over to my instagram account as there is a new competition going live tonight
We’ve been looking for something to put up in the garage to keep an eye on this. Sadly there has been a number of break ins in our area. This looks nice and easy to set up.
