Children’s Essential Sun Protection Clothing

*Advertorial Review With Reima*

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseFor me summer brings about a semi panicked state.

Before kids I never really thought about the sun and the UVA and UVB rays. In fact I was fairly naive about skin damage and would be a total sun worshipper.

After becoming a parent every little thing has a danger behind it and knowing that kids skin is super delicate I have been really pro active at protecting it wherever possible.

Over the last few years I have been lucky enough to discover so many new brands and one of those has some perfect additions for the kids summer wardrobes!

Reima is a Finnish brand who specialises in providing clothing for any season and any weather and we have been trying out some of their sun protection clothing on the boys.

This summer we have had the most epic of weathers. It really has been a summer of 2 halves.

The first half of the summer was hot, hot, hot! with scorching temperatures and since then we have some hot days followed by double the amount of wet soggy days, however it still remained fairly warm.

Sun Protection Swim Suits

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseFirst up on the list of clothing to mention is the ideal range of sun protection clothing that we received from Reima. With 2 age ranges to cater for I was thrilled that they covered both kids.

For Jacob the kids Galapagos swim suit was super. It comes in a super range of colour options and with its full length zip it made it really easy to get Jacob in and out of it, wet or dry.

The length of the legs and arms were ideal with lots of both well covered but not restrictive.

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseObviously to make it even more sun friendly its made with stretchy material packed with UV protection factor of 50+

Sun Protection Swim Shirts

For Joshua we had a couple of the fabulous Soloman Swim Shirts sent out which again has a UV protection of factor 50+. Its has full length arms and super stretchy material so it’s easy to pop on and with its great all over coverage Joshua has loved wearing them this summer.

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThank goodness they have saved my sanity. Last year Joshua was moaning about being covered up but in these he has been perfectly happy and he said its because he doesn’t fell swamped in it.

Sun Protection Shorts

To finish off keeping Joshua covered we were sent some of the Wave shorts and Honopu shorts and these too have been epic they are once again packed in UV protection material that we now expect from Reima products.

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThey were quick drying and long in the leg to give maximum coverage too.

I would have loved to see a little zip on the shorts pocket. Obviously its not detrimental but it would have been a nice touch. At 8 Joshua has so many things in his hands and the pocket in the shorts isnt very deep so he kept loosing his precious shells from his beach find!

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseSunglasses

Sunglasses can be one of the most over looked items in sun protection. Both my boys have super sensitive eyes to the sun so we have actively encouraged them wearing sunglasses from an early age but had not really found any that were specifically age appropriate in size or fit.

Reima kindly sent the boys a pair of sunglasses each. Both sets came in their own soft cases which had a clip on to allow us to clip them onto belts and bags easily.

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseThe Toddlers sunglasses fit Jacob beautifully with no digging or rubbing behind the ear and no slipping off his nose and are aimed at toddlers 2-4 years. He thought he was so cool to have his own glasses in a pouch he could access at all times.

Joshua’s Kids sunglasses fit equally well as they are aimed at children over 4 years. He has been even more obsessed with his glasses.

Children's Essential Sun Protection Clothing The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseBoth sets of glasses have UVA and UVB protection in them for sensitive eyes.

We have been super happy with the sun protection clothing for the boys and will be restocking for our holidays next year too.
