Completing The First Kids Football Season

Completing The First Kids Football Season The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseFor the last few years Joshua has been going to a mini football training evening once a week and this year he had his debut for an actual team.

This first football season is now securely under Joshua’s belt and it’s one that has made so many memories.

The changes that have happened since he first started playing have been immense.

Starting The Season

Initially if I am honest I had presumed he was just trying it out to keep Ollie happy as he really loves to make his Daddy happy.  The first few weeks he seemed frustrated and anxious. However we should have known that this in fact is just Joshua all over. He is an over thinker.

The training in the week was one of equal frustration from Ollie as he watched Joshua shy away from playing as he knew he could.

Seeing The Change

About a month or so in Ollie came home from training with Joshua beaming. Joshua himself was buzzing and it seems that finally Joshua had shown his true footballing skills and Ollie was so very proud.

Naturally Joshua is an over thinker who hates to upset anyone nor have them think ill of him. Which are all super lovely traits to have but together they can be really difficult to manage in new situations.

Needless to say seeing him relax and play with a smile on his face was just the tonic Ollie needed to keep coaching him at home in the garden.

Football Parents

Over the season there were a few football parent issues. Especially with certain parents but after some team changes the sidelines quietened down and issues subsided.

Who knew that parents were really that over involved and took kids football so seriously!

Final Match

This weekend saw Joshua play his final match of the season for this team and I had the chance to watch him.

It was nice to get to spend some time with the rest of my family and to watch my lovely little boy play his little heart out to become man of the match.

Completing The First Kids Football Season The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI had no real idea at the beginning of the season how much football teams can help children can grow. He is so much more positive and he loves being part of the team. Joshua is already counting down to next season and I can’t fault him. I am aiming to watch him play as much as I can next season because watching him grow in front of my eyes is magical.
