Family Time At Matlock Bath

Family Time At Matlock Bath The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseDuring half term we were lucky to get the Monday with hubs too as his rota is all over the place so we decided to take some time as a family to get out and about and visit one of our all time favourite places locally, Matlock Bath.

We often love to head here just to take some time together, eat fish and chips, walk, talk and play 2p machines as Matlock Bath reminds us of the seaside except instead of sea and sand there is a meandering river that plays host to masses of birds from ducks to seagulls!

Last week we were really lucky to have some crips but not too cold weather and even though it had rained through the night the sun shone from the moment we arrived and we headed for a stroll all be it at a more leisurely pace than normal since I am not 6 months pregnant.

For the first time this year we decided to head over the enormous steel bridge in search of the a park we had uncovered last year for some climbing fun and for Joshua to burn some energy off from sitting in the car,

After chasing, climbing, swinging and balancing it was time to head for some fish and chips and a stroll around the shops while breathing in the most amazing views.

To finish off the day we strolled to the amusement arcades and with 2p’s already in hand from our stash at home Joshua and I won 3 special keyrings and Ollie was pleased that it only took the 2p’s we had already and no money was changed …. Normally we spend about £3 so not changing any money made him super happy.

So with 3 keyring, full tummies and happy smiley faces there was only one last thing to squeeze in … a Mr Whippy ice-cream on the way to the car … well sometimes you just have to don’t you!
