Getting Out Of The Pre Christmas Slump

Getting Out Of The Pre Christmas Slump The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseI have been immensely excited about Christmas. After all Christmas is on of my favourite times of year.

December is the best month of Winter by far, I love the build up and I spend weeks throughout the organising so I can normally slow down and enjoy the whole build up to the big day.

This year however I am failing. I don’t know if its because I have done too much or if generally I am a mardy so and so.

It’s now 12 sleeps till Christmas and I am feeling like I am floundering.

This weekend however I am taking some time out for me and going to enjoy some time with friends and the boys to visit a circus that has moved into the area for the festive period. Last time we visited a circus it was in Butlins Skegness a while ago now when Jacob was a tiny tot and he loved it so I am hoping this one keeps him equally as engrossed. I need some good old family entertainment to stop the burn out.

This year I have been learning all about my own needs mentally and emotionally and I am becoming more attuned to when I need to take this step away from the everyday and replenish my own mental cup.

Although I am not perfect at doing it just yet. I am certainly recognising it more and more and making wiser choices based on that knowledge.

Over the last decade or so I have really neglected my own physical and mental wellbeing trying to do everything and manage everything all of the time. It is naturally something I do but I know it’s something I need to step away from doing.

So after acknowledging that for me there has certainly been a pre Christmas slump I am now going to take the next week or so one day at a time.

Are you Christmas ready?
