I Don’t Like Clothes Shopping

I Don't Like Clothes Shopping The Oliver\\\'s MadhouseFor the majority of my friends whiling away an hour or 6 in a gigantic shopping complex is nothing short of orgasmic.

For me however, I would rather boil my head in battery acid, while being clubbed to death by wild skunks …. OK so that doesn’t quite cut it, but you the gist right??

I have never seen the appeal with squeezing myself into a cubicle the size of a phone box in the hopes I wont show my pants to the passing ladies, the look was fantastic *cough cough* on Superman …. it is never going to look good on me! Having said that I would much rather that than the dreaded communal changing room, it didn’t do it for me as a teen and now I am 8 times the size I was then … the prospect is far less appealing.

I have always felt dreadful when it comes to clothes shopping, I’m not sure why as I have not always been this big, however having short legs has never helped matters either?! …. See even thinking of shopping means I come out in a negativity overload about myself … why, oh why does it make me feel this way?

This week I forced myself out my comfort zone and with the prospect of attending Britmums Live in my jogging bottoms as the weight gain from giving up smoking had stripped me of my normal wardrobe … I  really had to get a move on and buy a new outfit to go!

So with some last-minute hiccups with work rotas and me having to change the day my clothing guru friend was not available and instead I took to Meadowhall with Hubster and the Toddler! ….. it really wasn’t a good mix for clothes shopping was it!

We had a super time checking out some fun stores and looking at ipads, Crocs and and even visiting Frankie and Bennys but when it came to the actual clothes shopping I have to say it was all really dismal!

After 6 hours I came back with a top that was ‘OK’ but secretly I fear it was bought out of panic at not having anything at all, and a pair of really nice jeans, however they need 3 inches lopping of the leg! ….

In complete dismay when I got home I took to the trust online shopping site and not only secured me 3 lovely tops to choose from but 2 new bras and smiley face to boot!

So there you have it …

I am not designed to go clothes shopping, I am an online shopper and that’s the way it will stay!

I could not agree with you more, I did the same yesterday and think bought something ‘just in case I don’t find anything at all’. Sigh! Someday I’ll be back to being size 10-12 and shopping will be the first thing on my mind as I gleefully hop out of bed! 🙂 Lovely post, Jaime! I look forward to meeting you soon. x

I’m not good a clothes shopping either, I can never find anything I really like and I hate trying on. I tend to use catalogues where you don’t have to pay until you’ve received your order, then I order a ton of things that I think I like, try them all on at home and then send back anything I don’t like. There have been time though when the whole lot has gone back. I guess some of us are not cut out for clothes shopping!

I hate shopping, I really do, and clothes shopping is the worst. I can’t understand anyone who enjoys it. I have managed to buy myself a new frock for Britmums – and it only took 2 shops and 1 hour. Good job really because that was about my limit 😀

I’m quite happy to buy kids clothes in the shops, but only buy for myself online. And even then, usually just from Next, as not tempted to try other online stores

I always find what I want in the first shop, but never buy it until I have been in at least ten other shops.

Another one who has no love of shopping here too, unless it is for seeds, plants or chickens and then I am happy! In fact after a near disaster both clothes shopping for the boys and present shopping for Ben I have a similarly names blog post swimming around in my head. All I can say is thank goodness the pigs don’t mind what I wear!

I remember following your shopping trip and knowing your heart wasn’t in your top. I’m glad you found what you like on line. I am quite the opposite and never shop on line, I would ens up buying what I like the look of on the models and not what would suit me. To be honest I buy most of my clothes in the charity shops, I do love a bargain and find the price of clothes a waste of money, but I know that’s just me.
