Turning 4 was a massive deal to Jacob recently.
He has wanted to be a ‘big’ boy for many months and he has been excited about turning 4 as he knows he starts school when he is 4. Although he has been a little disappointed that this won’t happen till September!
With Joshua at school, Ollie and I managed to take the day off and spend some quality time with Jacob on his birthday and with his first brand new bike as his birthday gift we took him out to christen his new bike with Grandma.
He did so well that I have no doubt those stabilisers will be coming off soon!
In the afternoon before tea Effie (Grandma) and Grandad popped in for cuddles.
For birthday tea we normally go out but Jacob wanted to stay at home and have Mummy’s pasta so who were we to argue?!
After tea we finally got to the best bit … the cake!
This year I totally knew where my limits were and paid someone else to do that PJ Mask cake for us. I actually bought the cake while the maker was doing an offer so we actually got 6 cupcakes with it too. This meant that we were able to let Jacob blow the candle on his PJ Mask cake and then eat the cupcakes instead.
So we were able to use the PJ Mask cake again at the weekend for his birthday party with his friends at Oceans of Fun in Hucknall. Saving us some money and making him doubly happy!
After a soft play party with all his favourite nursery friends and a beige buffet fit for an 4 year old Jacob declared it as “the best day ever” The only down side to that is he is now wanting a birthday party every day.
However I personally would like for time to slow down just a fraction as I really do want more time to spend with him. Getting to know his personality and to watch him growing into a ‘big’ boy.
That’s it my very last baby has now turned 4!

Aww that looks so much fun for Jacob. Hope he had the best time. Love the cake xx
Thanks lovely, he had a total blast! Can you believe that he is now 4!! where did that go?
